A Workshop Taught at Your Plant

 

What is The Problem Solving Workshop?

Using the 8D problem solving tool, participants will explore the benefits of a structured problem solving approach, review the problem solving tools and techniques available and complete an 8D for an active internal issue.

 

What Will You Learn About Problem Solving?

Discipline 1: Use a Team Approach.
To encourage interaction, stimulate ideas, promote ownership, and provide a new framework to view the problem.

Discipline 2: Describe the Problem. As a starting point to successfully guide the process and keep it on target.

Discipline 3: Implement Interim Containment . As a tool to stop the immediate spread of the problem while the team works to determine root cause and implement corrective action.

Discipline 4: Define the Root Cause . The core of the 8D process, this piece involves a 5-step approach to identify and thoroughly define the root cause.

Discipline 5: Develop Solution. Systematically develop and pilot alternatives to reach the most robust, feasible, and cost-effective solution.

Discipline 6: Implement the Solutions . Use a comprehensive method of defining, implementing, and monitoring the effectiveness of the chosen solution.

Discipline 7: Prevent Recurrence. Targeted approach of verifying, documenting, and standardizing your solution to ensure

Discipline 8: Congratulate the Team. Publicly recognize and congratulate the team to provide encouragement to team members, educate the organization, and positively impact morale.
